Rickinghall Village Hall Children's Play Area re-opens!!

RTC Safety Surfaces team members hard at work installing durable safety surfaces at a playground, showcasing teamwork and dedication.

Just in time for the school summer holidays, the new rubber safety surface was completed to a high standard by RTC Safety Surfaces on 17th July, despite some extreme temperatures delaying the start of the work. The old surface was laid back in 2009, so the replacement should hopefully now last into the 2040s!

The fact that the play equipment is so well used, and always has been, was an important factor in both Mid-Suffolk District Council & Awards for All agreeing to fund the new surface. The £39,500 cost, extra high because of the need to remove and dispose of the old surface first, was shared equally between these two bodies. The fact that Awards for All paid their half up front meant that the Village Hall was able to pay the 50% advance deposit to the contractor without having to empty the piggy bank!

Children gleefully celebrate the grand re-opening of their local playground, waving flags beneath Community Lottery Funds decorations.
